The Mustang Family Welcomes Back Greg Tipps
Greg Tipps, who spent seven seasons as Coach of the Lady Mustangs, has been named Loretto High School Boys Basketball Coach. Coach Tipps left Loretto High School in 2014 to coach at Stone Memorial High School in Crossville, TN. He then went on to coach at Dickson County High School for two seasons where he led his team to the state tournament both years.
“We are pleased to welcome Coach Tipps back “home”. We are looking forward to the success we know he will bring to our boys basketball program,” stated Principal Dr. Jennifer Littleton.
In the seven years Coach Tipps was previously at Loretto High School, he led the Lady Mustangs to three state tournament appearances, advancing to the Final Four twice. Prior to his time at Loretto High School, Coach Tipps coached at Coffee County High School and Moore County High School.
Coach Tipps stated, “I’m very excited about coming back to Loretto High School. The school and community are very special to me and my family. We had a great 7 years there and can’t wait to make more memories.
The opportunity to come back and work with a great group of young men and to get back into the boys game is a dream come true. I’m very thankful to Dr. Jennifer Littleton, Harley Simbeck, and the entire administration for their trust and making this decision possible.
A special thank you to my wife Paige and all of her support for this decision. We are so thrilled for my son Brendon and are looking forward to introducing our daughter Baylor Kate to everyone. We can’t wait to get started and can’t wait to get back home and hear the roar of the crowd in the “barn”. Go Mustangs!”
